Our aim is to free women who have been arbitrarily detained by the Houthis. Providing survivors with protection is our priority, and a core part of the Yemen peace process.
The Alliance of Women for Peace in Yemen is a women's organization working in peacemaking and combating violence, extremism, and terrorism. It aims to spread national, cultural, and social awareness in order to activate women's role in the peace process, beside activating their role in civil society, government and security policies for a real participation in the process of peacemaking in society.
Assisting women victims of violence, armed conflicts or natural disasters, including the injured, displaced, refugees and the afflicted, contributing to the urgent response to their urgent cases and providing relief to them, as well as working to mitigate the effects of the conflict, especially on children, women, the elderly and the disabled.
Noura Al-Jarwi is from Al Baidaa governate, and she was raised in Sana'a. She got her bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Master's Degree in Human Resources, before she worked at the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Yemen.
There, Noura became the Deputy Assistant of the Women's Department, before she moved to the Media Department. At 36 she established the alliance of women for peace in Yemen in 2016, a civil organization with 1,000 women from all around Yemen.
Noura is a civil society leader and works with multi-lateral organizations to advocate for women who have been kidnapped, detained, and displaced by the war in Yemen.

Secure the immediate release of female detainees or forcibly disappeared. Hold perpetrators accountable, so they reveal the fate of all missing persons.
Promote principles of equality, peaceful coexistence, and inclusion. Defend freedom of opinion and expression, spread and promote a culture of dialogue and recognition of the other.
Coordinate with legitimate authorities to develop Yemeni rule of law, with an emphasis on human rights. Educate the public on international norms and standards, with a focus on women and girls.
